The Story Behind Rise Foundation

Empowering Girls. Transforming Lives. Building Futures.

The idea behind Rise Foundation was born from a dream that lived deeply in Shefali’s heart. Shefali—lovingly called Pari by Parag—always believed that education and opportunity could transform lives. One of her constant wishes was to start a foundation dedicated to girls’ education and women’s empowerment. She often spoke about creating a platform where young girls could receive education, confidence, and the support needed to build their own future. After Shefali’s passing, her dream did not fade—it became even more meaningful. Parag knew that her vision could not remain incomplete. The foundation was created to honor her wish and continue the mission she believed in with all her heart.

A Dream That Helps Girls Rise

Why Girls in India Face Big Challenges Today

Child Marriage Still Affects Millions

Around 23% of women aged 20–24 in India were married before the age of 18, meaning almost 1 in 4 girls lose their childhood and education due to early marriage.

Millions of Girls Leave School Early

School enrolment drops sharply as girls get older: nearly 47.2% of girls aged 16–17 are not enrolled in school, showing that nearly half don’t continue their education through higher levels.

Educational Barriers

Poor school infrastructure, lack of menstrual hygiene facilities, safety concerns, and traditional gender roles push millions of girls out of education early.

Because Every Girl Deserves a Future

At Shefali Jariwala Rise Foundation, we believe that a girl’s future should not be defined by poverty, loss, or circumstances beyond her control. Every girl deserves the right to education, emotional safety, and the opportunity to become independent and confident.

Across India, thousands of girls are forced to give up their dreams due to financial hardship, lack of support, or emotional trauma. We exist to change that reality. Through educational sponsorships, mental health support, and continuous mentorship, we stand beside girls who need help the most — from childhood until they are strong enough to stand on their own.
